Beach 2011

We took a trip to Gulf Shores the first part of July and yes... I'm just now posting about it. I have a ton of pictures... but for the moment I'm just posting the ones I took on my phone.

We stayed with some of our good friends and Conner had a blast playing with Peyton! Conner loved playing in the ocean and the pool! His favorite part was jumping off the side of the pool! I bet he jumped 500 times!!

We went to The Track and Conner rode go carts for the first time. He LOVED it! I'm pretty sure Joey was just as excited as Conner was ... :)

CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY!

It has been pretty hectic around here lately .. from surgery and sickness.. to weddings.. and work. I get tired just thinking about it.

My SWEET Mother-in-Law had surgery a few weeks ago... We were all very worried and we are SO PLEASED with the outcome. I'm so thankful that she is going to be okay! Joey's mom and dad have been a huge blessing in our life. They keep Conner 3 days a week and it helps out more than I can even say. I don't know what we would do if we had to put him in school 5 days a week.

So, during her surgery and recovery, Conner spent some time with my Aunt Penny. She has been home from Georgia for a while now helping my Nana who has also had some health issues lately.

Pena, as Conner & my cousin Tess call her, is a child's dream babysitter. HA She lets you do whatever you want & gives you whatever you want. Pena and Conner played doctor, took trips to the jungle, and chewed more gum than any candy store has in stock. :)

Conner has a WILD imagination.... he loves to find monkeys in the jungle, he hides from monster birds, and just last night he named his teddy bear Jimmy... That totally cracks me up and will definitely have a post soon that is all about Jimmy!!

What have we been up to??

The Summer is in full swing... has been for awhile.. and really, Summer is just like any other time of the year for us. Conner still goes to school... Joey and I work... Same ole, same ole. :) BUT... We have spent a lot more time outside and we've even enjoyed a few days at the pool!


We spent the 4th of July weekend celebrating with Joey's family. We all got together Saturday and had some yummy food and homemade ice cream!! Joey and "the kids" had some fun on the tire swing. Conner didn't have much to do with the tire swing so he stood to the side and made funny faces. :)

Sunday after church we headed over to my Uncle's to swim... Conner loves the water and likes to "swim like a shark"! I bought him some floaties and we are practicing our "doggie paddling" HA!

My sweet baby cousin Tia.. aka T-Pot... She loves some swim time too!

Big Sister Tess swims like a fish!!! Conner loves to play with Tess. He thinks he is as old as she is!

Thanks to my Uncle Benjy & Aunt Cheryl for letting us hang out and swim!! We had a great time!

TOMATOES!

My little man LOVES tomatoes!!!

So much... that he ate one like an apple!! Conner found this tomato on Mama Jean's tomato plant and when he brought it in the house he said, " I like matoes"! Then he asked if he could bite it, when Mama Jean told him to go ahead  he took a big bite and said, "MMM". Speaking of tomatoes, it won't be long and Conner will have his very own tomatoes to eat at home. Our little garden we planted a while back is growing pretty well and I'm really excited. This was the first time we had planted a garden and I'm pretty pleased with how it is coming along.

I actually picked a few radishes the other day.... I can't wait until the rest of our veggies are ready!!!!

This Week......

Conner got a new do...............

This new do was not exactly planned... I decided I would take the clippers to Conner's hair. BIG MISTAKE! I shaved the sides (not this short) and I really wasn't sure what to do with the front. Lindsee suggested to just take the clippers to the front too, but I was scared! Before I could even think, Joey grabbed the clippers and shaved the front of Conner's head... I about flipped... almost passed out..and CRIED! HA Joey told me I was acting completely ridiculous, and maybe I was, but he is my baby and too little to have a hair cut like this! LOL  I guess it is growing on me.. but I warned Joey he better enjoy it because it will NEVER be this short again. HA I guess we will see.......

I know I put an insane amount of salt ...BUT I LOVE IT! Thanks to my bestest Jenn for introducing this yummy goodness to me! And Conner LOVES it too!!! 

Don't worry, he isn't eating the whole thing!! :) He is a pro at popping out the beans and after each bite he says "MMMM" !!

TGIF!!! We are looking forward to a GREAT weekend! Daddy is off and Conner and I couldn't be more excited! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

TWO THINGS

First---- I failed to mention a minor mishap that involved a bird, 4 kiddos, & 2 crying adults.... HA

As I mentioned yesterday, Sunday we had a small get together... So later that afternoon while we were cooking dinner, Lindsee came busting into the house almost in tears. Zoie, Lindsee and Westley's Schnauzer, had killed a mama bird. :( The baby bird which was about to take flight in a matter of days was in the back yard hopping around trying to find his dead birdie mama. I went outside to see what we could do about the bird and the kiddos were all standing around staring and talking their best form of baby talk to the birdie. Conner bent down trying to get eye level with the little fella and said "hey baby bird...hey". Then he turns to Jackson and said "sit on it, Jackson". HAHA I guess Conner thought it was an EGG...???? Being the animal lover I am I was yelling at Joey to find something to put it in. Lindsee and I wanted to save the little guy. Joey brings me an old plastic bowl and we are trying to scoop it up when out of nowhere-----No, not really he was standing there the whole time----- Chipper, our Schnauzer, leaps through the air and ATTACKS the poor baby bird!!!!! So now I am practically in tears and I storm in the house (after of course beating spanking Chipper).

Now lets jump on to after we eat dinner and everyone is hanging out in the house when Angela says "OMG! WHAT IS THAT...AAAAHHH EEEWWW It's half of a bird" There in the middle of my living room floor is what appears to be the head/neck/beak of a bird that a dog clearly PUKED up. We had a small debate of who would pick the remains up and I nominated Westley because of course he is the paramedic. Westley scoops the guts up in a paper towel and starts examining it. He then proceeds to tell us that it is in fact potatoes and green beans, not the remains of a bird. I guess one of the doggies got into someone's scraps outside. OOPSIE!! HA

Second --- Recently Conner has started calling me "Mom"! He says it a million times a day and it totally cracks me up. He also calls Joey "Dad" sometimes. Tuesday morning I was getting him ready for school and he said "Mom, my John going to pick my up from school today?"...... Then we were about to leave and I asked if he wanted a juice box to carry on the way to school and he says.. "No thank you Mom"! He is so sweet sometimes and has such good manners! I hope those good manners stick with him!!!

Catching Up

So the past couple of weeks have flown by and I haven't blogged any so here are some pictures to quickly catch up on some of the things we have done.....

Last weekend Joey had to work so Conner and I hung out and played!

Sunday we spent the afternoon shopping with Grammy. We hit Marshall's and I found several cute tops for CHEAP!! I love finding good deals... After Marshall's we stopped at Sam's and loaded up on some groceries! Conner was one tired toddler and took a nap on the way home.

Don't you love his "shades" !!! He always wears them upside down. :)

A couple of weeks ago we decided to plant a garden. We didn't really have a clue what we were doing, but hopefully we will have some veggies come up eventually!! Conner wanted to help, so he broke out his four wheeler! 

This past Saturday we headed over to Jana & Bobby's to hang out! We had a great time and made a quick Sonic run for some ice cream.... YUM! Conner & Katie had a blast playing together... 

And finally - moving on to yesterday.... After church we made a quick Walmart stop and picked up a pool for Conner. He loved it and wanted to play as soon as we got home!! We stayed outside all afternoon and Lilee, Jackson, & Peyton came to play. The grown-ups girls got some sun and the kids had a blast. The guys hid in the shade.... HA!

Conner had a little fun in the mud too!!! :) 

Now it's time for another work week... BOO! And it is Joey's LONG week at that ... YUCK!
